Support Payment and Refund Policy

Support payments made through this website help cover expenses associated with independently producing TEDx Oconomowoc.

TEDx Oconomowoc is independently organized under license from TED. Payments are received by TEDx Oconomowoc and are not payments to TED Conferences, LLC.

Nature of payment

Support payments are voluntary. Unless expressly stated otherwise:

• They do not include admission to the event.
• They do not purchase goods or services.
• They do not establish membership or ownership rights.
• They are not represented as charitable contributions.
• They are not currently tax-deductible as charitable donations.

No recurring payment will be made unless the supporter expressly selects and authorizes a recurring-payment option.

Use of funds

Funds may be used for legitimate event-related expenses, including venue costs, audiovisual production, insurance, accessibility, marketing, website services, administration, event materials, hospitality, and other production costs.

Refunds

Because support payments are voluntary and may be committed to event expenses shortly after receipt, payments are generally final.

We will consider a refund when:

• A payment was duplicated;
• The amount was entered incorrectly;
• The payment was unauthorized or fraudulent; or
• Applicable law requires a refund.

Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the transaction by emailing mike@tedxoconomowoc.com. Include the payer’s name, transaction date, amount, and the reason for the request.

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method when reasonably possible. Processing times may depend on Stripe and the payer’s financial institution.

Event cancellation or postponement

A support payment is separate from an event ticket and does not provide admission. Therefore, cancellation, postponement, relocation, or program changes do not automatically entitle the supporter to a refund.

Ticket refunds are governed by the ticket seller’s policies and applicable law.

Charge disputes

Please contact us before initiating a payment dispute so we can investigate and attempt to resolve the matter.

Delivery, shipping, and returns

No physical goods are sold or shipped through the support-payment page. Therefore, shipping and merchandise-return policies do not apply. Support payments are governed by this Support Payment and Refund Policy. Tickets are sold separately through the designated ticketing provider and are governed by that provider’s terms and applicable law.
